Research and Teaching Interests

Analog and digital, static and moving three-dimensional characters and objects. Focus of teaching on the following technologies / software products:

Autodesk Maya (modeling, rigging), Pixologic ZBrush, Vicon Motion Capture, photogrammetry, 3D printing (Formlabs)

Major focus on artistic anatomy: organization of own and external workshops on anatomy.

Short Biography

Julia Dufek was born in West Berlin. With her parents, she spent part of her childhood and teenage years in southern Africa (Botswana, Swaziland), where she earned a International Baccalaureate degree from the Waterford Kamhlaba United World College of Southern Africa (UWCSA). Following her return  to Berlin, she studied Animation at HFF Konrad Wolf in Potsdam and specialized in the fields of puppet animation and 3D computer animation. During this time, she developed a particular interest in the motion ob objects in space. After her graduation, she primarily worked in 3D for various film and cultural projects. Due to her interest in the design of three-dimensional objects, she decided to enroll in the Sculpture program of the Florence Academy of Art in Italy to enhance her knowledge in the field of sculpture. Julia Dufek has been an artistic assistant in the Animation program of Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF since 2012.
