Lynn Kossler studied History of Art, Theater, Film, and Television Studies, and English Studies at Universität zu Köln and Freie Universität Berlin as well as Directing for Film and Television at the Academy of Media Arts (KHM) Cologne.
During her studies, Kossler worked as a DJ and as a museum guide (at, among others, Hamburger Bahnhof, Neue Nationalgalerie Berlin, Alte Nationalgalerie Berlin, and Museum Berggruen) for several years.
Since 2010, she has worked for stations and companies such as WDR, European Citizen Media, KHM, Element E, and Alep e.V. as a freelance producer, director, and editor.
Her music videos, experimental films, documentaries, and feature films have been shown at numerous international festivals and museums (e.g., "Paulina": Festival du Court Métrage, Clermont-Ferrand, Hamburg International Short Film Festival, International Festival of Contemporary Cinema 2-in-1, Moscow / "Heimat": Museum Ludwig, Cologne), received several awards, and were sold to Arte and WDR.
Since 2011, she has been teaching knowledge in the fields of film and art in various settings: In addition to her teaching assignments at the Academy of Media Arts (KHM) Cologne, she has developed projects such as "Film ab!" (which includes film screenings for a cross-generational audience), created concepts for courses, and led workshops for institutions such as the Julia Stoschek Collection, Young Arts Neukölln, the German Red Cross, and Netdays e.V.
Kossler has been an artistic assistant in the Directing program since 2016. In 2017, she also joined the Institute for Artistic Research (!KF) as an assistant.
