Sirko Knüpfer
Sirko Knüpfer studied at the art academies of Halle/Saale, Glasgow and Karlsruhe. With the artist collective "HENRY VIII's WIVES" he was active in the international art context from 1997 to 2014. The film documentary work for the company Sasha Waltz & Guests directs his focus to contemporary dance and sparks interest in its medial reflection. With the choreographer Paula E. Paul, he founded "KOMBINAT kombiniert Tanz und Film UG" in Potsdam in 2009. The collective develops and produces filmic works, performative formats and cross-genre dance theatre projects.
From 2011 to 2014 he taught in the Time-Based Arts department at Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule Halle/Saale, and since 2017 at the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF in the montage department.
